Dog Friendly Lake District Cottages near Keswick, Bassenthwaite, Cockermouth & Whinlatter Forest
We welcome all well behaved and house trained dogs in Fox Howe and Jasmine cottages. From 2024 Squirrel cottage will be our dog free cottage.
There is room for up to 2 dogs in each cottage with a small charge for each dog per stay.
Facilities that we provide for our guest dogs
- Dog secure flagged patio areas. Unfortunately we don’t have a grassy garden space for your dogs at the cottages but there are lots of lovely paths walkable from the door from where dogs can be safely let off the lead.
- Fox Howe cottage has wooden floor throughout with a tiled kitchen area. Jasmine cottage has a lino equivalent in the entrace and kitchen area. The rest of the cottage is carpeted but we plan in 2024 to replace this with wood.
- Dog treats and doggy bags
- Hosepipes available
- Bowl of water for your dog at cottage front door
- Food/water bowl mat for inside
- Information on local dog friendly pubs and cafes
- Information on local vet and pet shop
- Information on local dog walks
Dog equipment that we can provide
If you forget to bring any of your dog equipment or simply don’t have room in the car –don’t worry, just ask us when you are here and we can lend you any of the following items at no extra charge
- Stainless steel dog feeding bowls
- Dog towels
- Old plastic washing up bowls for use if you want to wash your dog
- Dog collar tags for your stay (etched with Croftlands Cottages details)
- Spare dog lead
- Torch for dog walking
- Tick removal device
- An indoor collapsible dog crate (H=70cm W=64cm L=92cm). Please request when booking (we have one of these).
